monday again…. June 30, 2008

so my little guy is on his way!! Ah i cannot wait! Anna and Derek got there about 6:15 this mornin and she got in her room a little before 7. Dr. Blake said she was still just 2 cm dialated and he expected Brody to be here around 5:00. She texted me a few minutes ago and said they were comin in like 45 minutes to break her water and give her an epidural. So that’ll start things off and he may be here a little sooner than anticipated.
Main thing is we want a strong and healthy baby!! This child will definately be living the high spoiled life. Between me and sarah and my dad…gosh. My dad is gonna give him whatever he wants. Daddy never had any brothers (just 2 sisters) and he and my mom had 3 girls, so its way overdue for him to have a grandson. Brody will definately never do any wrong in my daddy’s eyes. I’m pretty sure Brody is going to push me and sarah back on the back burner!! So its just 10:00 right now..so we still got a few hours to go.
I got anna a little arrangment of jelly beans and some hard candy from the package store because thats all she can eat. Bless her heart she is starving right now. Oh and the room is crawling with in-laws right now..i feel so sorry for her…anyways..they put a pretty little “its a boy” balloon on there and a big blue bow on top….So cute!!

The Latino Festival was saturday. It was great weather for it too…not too hot, not too cold. Great turn out. We got there about 10 saturday morning and we had everything cleaned up and we were ready to go by like 4:30 that afternoon. It was fun though..
Good weekend…and we’re in for a GREAT monday!

well, anna went back to the doctor tuesday. mr. brody will be here monday!! Dr. Blake got her a room at the FP Hospital for 6:30 am on Monday morning and if Brody doesn’t come this weekend, he is going to enduce her…
O i am so so very excited!!! Derek and I are taking her to the hospital that morning, so we’ll be there the whole time until the little guy is born Dr. Blake said she was 2 cm when she went in tuesday, and he said there is a very high chance that her water could break on her own this weekend. If it does, then we will have him sooner than expected
Alot of people have told us that if she eats spicy food that will throw her in to labor. Only problem is, she hates peppers and all the hot stuff. lol. so that tid-bit of information did us all absolutely no good….

Our first presidential host meeting of the summer is today. Saturday is the all day Latino Festival event and  its one of our mandatory events for the summer. So today we’ll get our assignment and out tshirts for the event..and then we’ll be at the school ALL DAY saturday. Needless to say, I’m prayin that anna holds Brody in until that is all over!!! I mean since I will be the favortie aunt and all…seriously.

so its almost the end of the week. I’ll try to write again monday if i get a chance…no telling how late we will be at the hospital..i’ll keep everyone posted!! Have a great weekend

Well, its the beginning of yet another week in the hoppin town of rainsville. Once again, I will get to go to work every single day, and come home and do endless hours of homework while i wish my life away with petty wishes that I KNOW will not come true..but its still fun to dream right??
Although, there may be one exciting event take place this week. hopefully a new member will be added to the family

as far as school…let me just clue you in on the latest. So, friday, I went home from work and like always went straight to the computer to bury myself in the vastness of school work. I stayed on there most of the night doing statistics, which is boring to say the least, because I knew it was all due saturday night by 12. Well, I went to eat with anna that night because derek was gone up to the race track. So, we left the house about 8, went and ate, and returned home only to sit down and watch tv. how fun..anyway, i was pretty tired so I decided to just stay there for the night. My phone went dead sometime in the night and so I didnt have an alarm to wake me up. The plan was, go home about 9 and make the most of the day in front of the computer, yet again. well, this little girl didn’t wake up until 3:00! I had crawled in the bed with anna when derek left and fell asleep right there! So i rushed home to do homework and worked on my stats till about 6. STILL not done…i started freaking out because I knew I wouldnt’ have it all turned in by 12 that night..
Well, after I went out for a couple hours I went home and worked on it yet again. I figured I would just do as much as I could and get it turned in and work on the rest sunday afternoon and just have a few points off. So, i did. worked on it more, then busted my tail sunday afternoon to finish it..

here’s the bad part..i went to the test page after i finished all the homework and I saw the due date…JUNE 28 2008!!! Thats next saturday!!!
So, i pretty much stressed myself out the entire weekend only to find that it did me absolutely O GOOD. it was pretty wonderful when i saw the date though..i guess the up side is that i am a little ahead now

anywho..i’ll write later this week because i’m sure something fantastic will happen that i will just want the whole world to know..because that happens in rainsville..lots of good news…
yea. right.

its getting so much closer!! We’ve got the countdown to little Brody Mac’s arrival, derek’s big 21, daddy’s big 45th birthday, me leaving for Ecuador…ah so much to look forward to!! Which I can’t decide if I am more excited about Ecuador or Brody?? They’re gettin pretty close!!! lol…

my youth is goin on a campin trip and a concert at a park at the end of july right before i leave..i figure derek will DEFINATELY need a break by then so he’s gonna go to the camp out while i stay home with anna and little Brody Mac for the weekend oh…so fun!! 

so here’s the update on anna…she went monday and they said she was a fingertip dialated..then she went back yesterday because she was hurtin and they said she was the 5th one to come in hurting like that that morning..and the other 4 were in labor!!!! I just about started packin a suit case from work when she told me that!!! lol. but…still no labor..last night was a full moon and we thought FOR SURE he would come..
BUT…if she holds out till monday..derek and brody mac will have the same birthday!! How sweet is that!

ok…well i guess this is all for now..maybe next time i write my little buddy will be here! hope Everyone has a wonderful week!!!

ecuador June 12, 2008

my plane ticket came in Tuesday! I mean really..you guys have no idea how excited I am! My mom had a conference call with all the other parents of the teens that will be going. Since there is 20 of us, it was quiet a long call. But oh the things we will be doing and seeing!! Ok, here’s just a little bit…

So there is this village close to the city of Quito that was destroyed by a natural disaster. After it was destroyed, Samaritan’s Purse went in and rebuilt the entire village. All the houses have been constructed and everything is done to the painting stage. So…we are going to have the opportunity to finish the exteriors of the homes that aren’t done yet. Painting, wood work, all that…but here’s the cool part….

The village that was destroyed was one of the ones on the list to visit to hand out boxes..SOO…we will actually be dedicating that village the week we are there and giving the homes away as well!! So the parents will get keys to their new home, and the kids will get the boxes!!

But here is my favortie part. So every year I have worked in the distribution center and went through hundreds and hundreds of boxes per day making sure everything is ok to go. When my mom was talking to Diana on the conference call Diana told her we could pack our own box and pick out a child to give it to!!!! O my gosh that is just so great! I mean yeah, I will get to see the faces of all these children when they open their box…but this one will be special. It will be MY box that I packed and prayed over. Definately my favorite part of the trip so far!! :)

well, today is another typical monday..only much busier. This week we’re in VBS at my church, and I’m one of the music directors. So, we teach the kids a new song every night. I work everyday from 8-5, VBS 6-8:30, and 12 hours of class, with work due this week. So, you do the math…

Anywho, Anna goes back to the doctor today! We’re thinking little Brody is gonna come this week, simply because my mom doesn’t want him to. lol. See my mom is the director of VBS so she has plenty of things on her plate this week, without a new grand baby to add to the mix! But o wow, Anna is big. lol.

I’ve been doing some research on Quito, and I found out a bunch of interesting things. Quito, which is the capital, is known as “San Fransisco de Ecuador”. In other words, it looks kind of like San Fransisco. Look up some pictures…it is absolutely GORGEOUS!!!! I keep counting down the days till I leave. I’m so excited!! I should receive some more information on everything in the next couple of weeks…

..summer.. June 2, 2008

So, it’s finally here, and I can’t even tell!! I had about a two week break from classes and then I started right back with 4 online classes. Very dumb move. Don’t do that.

I’m working full time now at Scruggs, Dodd, and Dodd. PLUS talking 12 hours of classes. PLUS doing the Presidential Hosting duties. PLUS my sister’s baby is on the way!!
I’m really really excited about that.

I found out about a month ago I have been accepted for a trip to Ecuador to hand out gifts to children with Operation Christmas Child. I leave on August 5 and come home on August 15. Definately not near as long as I was gone last summer, but it will for sure be a change from here!

Well, I guess that is all for now. Hopefully I will have more time to post things since school is out! (sort of) Hope you all have a great week
